World Malaria Day
World Malaria Day
To commemorate World Malaria Day 2022, we organized a free health outreach for residents of Ile-nla community in Labiran, Ibadan. This community has been a major beneficiary of our outreaches in the past. To fuel our fight against malaria, we conducted free malaria tests for residents as well as other blood tests including blood pressure and blood sugar screenings.
In addition to the tests, health professionals gave health and nutrition presentations. We distributed mosquito nets to help protect community members from mosquito bites. Our goal was to raise awareness of malaria prevention and treatment while screening for other potential health issues. Events like this can go a long way in improving the overall health and -well-being of rural communities by identifying issues early and educating residents. We are sure this outreach made a positive impact in Ile-nla community.
