Ibadan Plastic Waste Recovery
Ibadan Plastic Waste Recovery
This was one of our biggest projects, held in the city of Ibadan at six different locations (Dugbe, Sango, UI, Molete, Apata, Iwo Road) serving as collection points with over 40 youth volunteers in total. This project was unique, as individuals exchanged waste items for food items. CLAHN also partnered with other environmental non-governmental organizations that contributed to the success of the initiative. All recyclables collected were taken to the collection and sorting center for processing before the next stage of recycling.
The multiple collection points across the city ensured convenient access for residents to be a part of the big project. The enthusiasm demonstrated by the volunteers stressed the importance of community engagement in environmental sustainability efforts. Our Partnership with like-minded organizations strengthened the project, by leveraging their expertise, networks, and resources.
Objectives
