School Environmental Awareness Program
CLAHN organized an environmental awareness program at Redeemer’s High School, the only secondary school in Ito-Omu town located in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Nigeria. The organization held an informative talk session with the students focusing on key environmental issues affecting the community.
The talk focused on proper waste recycling methods to reduce pollution, promote environmental health, and minimize climate change impacts. Students learned the importance of separating different types of waste for effective recycling. They were educated on how improper waste disposal affects soil and water sources, spreads diseases, and pollutes the air.
The school awareness program achieved its objective of sensitizing the young minds on simple changes they can make to help protect the environment. The students participated actively in the talk and showed enthusiasm in implementing what they learned. The organization was able to reach a significant number of students who will influence their families and communities going forward. Overall, the outreach to Redeemer's High School was a successful environmental education initiative that can pave the way for positive behavioral and attitudinal changes toward waste and resource management in Ito-Omu town.
